Should I write a review for this???
Not at all!
The mother of all startegy books. Though written teo decades agao, this is still a valuable book for all learning strategy. What else you want, then to read directly what Porter has written.
In 16 chapters, Porter covered everything from the five forces to generic strategies to competitor analysis to signaling to analysis within industries to all types of industries. The book also explains on vertical integration and perspectives from a new entrant.
I don't think a single introductory course in strategy can cover all the topics in the book. However, it is a book worth collecting for life time.
A good amount of the book can be read @ Google books @
